-Lieutenant Thomas Wheeler was born on 2 March 1589 in Bedfordshire, England. He married Ann Halsey on 5 May 1613 in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, England. She was born on 30 May 1591 in Cranfield. They emigrated to Concord, Massachusetts in the company of Reverend John Jones on board the “Defense”, landing in 3 October 1635. John Jones was considered a dissenter in Concord and moved to Fairfield Connecticut, settling at Pequannock on Uncoway Brook in 1644. He bult a stone house on the roof he had 2-four pounders, one pointing at the harbour and one at the nearby Indian Fort now called Old Fort. The Indian Fort had a garrison of up to 200 and that served as protection against other with the Indians from the interior.
His daughter Hannah Wheeler married James Bennet.
