-William Hickox was born in 1609, In about 1640 he married Elizabeth, born about 1612. Some say she came to New England as a maid-servant to Lyon Gardner and his wife Mary on the ship “Bachelor” arriving on 11 August 1635. She was 23 years old at the time. He was one of the original settlers at Farmington, Connecticut. He died in 1645. Elizabeth married secondly William Adams who had come to Hartford, from Massachusetts.  
 
Their son Sergeant Samuel Hickox married Hannah Upson, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Fuller. Their son Samuel Hickox married  Elizabeth Plumb.
