On 23 April 1752 Conrad Contreman of Canajoharie, Albany County, New York paid forty Spanish dollars and one pound of strouds to “Paulus, Turich, Joris, Joseph, Turichoorus and Adam, Native Indiains of the Province of New York, sole and absolute proprieters “of a tract of land consisting of 950 acres, situate, lying and beingin the county of Albany on the south side of the Mohawk River and upon the south east side of a creek called by the Indians Otsquaga””.
