-Pierre Jacques Croisson was born in 1609 at Menil La Cresson, Oizse, Picardy, France, he married on 5 June 1639 at Sedan, Ardennes, France Rachel Cloos born in 1619 in Holland. He was Gardner to the Prince of Orange and a member of the Dutch Reformed Church. He emigrated to the settlement of New Amstel on the Delaware River in 1657. He was recognized for his farming by Governor Stuyvesant and was asked to get more good farmers from Holland. He went back to Holland retained some additional farmers and on 25 April 1659 left Amsterdam on board the “Gilded Beaver” for the colonies. Pierre was retained by Governor Stuyvesant to work on his bowery. Pierre and his family were early settlers at Harlem. In addition to his farming he was appointed Magistrate and Chief in Command of the militia. In 1680 he moved to Staten Island.
His daughter Christina married Jan Le Tellier and in the next generation their son Samuel Tellier who married Mary Simpkins, daughter of Nicholas Simpkins and Elizabeth Weeks.
